On Saturday evening, Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 31-16 on the 2023-24 NBA season with a resounding road win over the San Antonio Spurs. Mitchell led the way for the Cavs with 31 points in the contest, continuing what has been an MVP stretch of basketball as of late for the All-Star guard.

One notable moment in this game occurred when Mitchell got into a bit of a skirmish with Spurs big man Zach Collins, ultimately resulting in both players being ejected from the contest.

After the game, Mitchell took to X, the social media platform formerly referred to as Twitter, to break down what he wished he had done differently during the heated altercation.

Donovan Mitchell has been playing arguably the best basketball of his career as of late, keeping the Cavaliers not only afloat but thriving during a recent string of injury absences, which are just now beginning to be shored up.

The Cavaliers are looking to bounce back after what was a brutal showing in the playoffs last postseason against the New York Knicks, in which Cleveland was unceremoniously dropped off in five games despite occurring on the heels of their best regular season this side of the LeBron James era.

A quick glance at the current standings would reveal that a rematch with the Knicks in this year’s playoffs is certainly a possibility, although there is still much to be resolved in the thicket of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, especially with over two full months to go until the playoffs actually begin.
