Caitlin Clark’s ‘Cleveland’ Admission Has Fans Remembering Joakim Noah’s Infamous Quote

This Friday night, Caitlin Clark and the 1-seed Iowa Hawkeyes will battle Paige Bueckers and the 3-seed UConn Huskies in the women's Final Four from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

During a sit-down with the media on Thursday, the Hawkeyes' superstar had nothing but nice things to share about the national semifinal host city - Cleveland.

"I've never been to Cleveland before, and it's been awesome honestly," Clark said. "It feels like low-key kinda like just a bigger version of my hometown, like Des Moines, Iowa... I'm excited to play here.

"We're just excited about the opportunity and we're happy to be in Cleveland."

While it's great to hear that Clark and the Hawkeyes enjoyed their trip to Northwest Ohio, her admission about Cleveland has basketball fans thinking back to former Bulls center Joakim Noah's viral comments on the city.

" Cleveland really sucks ," Noah infamously said in 2010.

    He wasn't done there, though.

"I don't know about this place, man," Noah said to TNT in an interview. "I just stayed in my hotel room. Every time I look out my windows, it's pretty depressing here man. It's bad. It's bad. No going out in Cleveland, man."

Asked later whether he regretted making the comments, Noah chose to double down.

"You think Cleveland's cool?" Noah said. "I've never heard anybody say, 'I'm going to Cleveland on vacation.' What's so good about Cleveland?"

Iowa vs. UConn will get underway on Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET.

I asked it years ago and I’ll ask it again. Who really gives a crap about what Joakim Noah thinks? He’s an irrelevant speck of nothing in the world of basketball.

Northwest Ohio? Just a little bit of research goes far.
