Saturday’s MLB schedule is highlighted by a game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians. Both teams have gotten off to a fast start and jumped to the top of their respective divisions early in the season, making this a game to watch. On the pitching front, Cleveland’s Triston McKenzie provides an interesting storyline. He made just four starts in 2023 because of multiple injuries. Meanwhile, the Yankees will send 25-year-old Luis Gil to the mound. He’s looked good in his first two starts, striking out 14 batters over nine innings while conceding just three runs. Of course, the Guards have flexed some offensive muscle early in the year. Steven Kwan and Andres Gimenez are getting on base at a high rate, setting the table for Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, and others. However, Gil has been reliable thus far while McKenzie is still too much of a wild card. That makes the Yankees the safer bet in Saturday’s game.
