Emaciated Dog Found Dumped on Side of Ohio Road Dies

On May 13, Cleveland Animal Care and Control discovered an emaciated dog dumped on the side of the road. The pup was in desperate need of medical assistance due to her severely dehydrated and malnourished state . Unfortunately, the canine passed away on May 22 after a long and arduous fight to survive. Her rescuers are now seeking the public’s help to bring her abusers to justice.

Darley was brought to Mutts in a Rut Rescue on May 13 as an emergency case of extreme emancipation. She was malnourished, dehydrated, frail, and was very close to losing her life when she was brought in. If immediate medical attention weren’t provided, the emaciated dog would have surely passed away on the side of the road in Cleveland, Ohio.

Unfortunately, per WOIO , Darley had no collar or tags to go by. She also wasn’t microchipped, so there was no way for her rescuers to contact her human. After much effort, vets finally stabilized the pup’s condition, but her health started deteriorating. A few days later, due to the constant highs and lows, the dog’s vet finally resorted to a blood transfusion .

On May 21, Mutts in a Rut Rescue staff members were asked to prepare themselves as Darley wasn’t doing well. The rescue had to make the hard decision of having to put down the emaciated dog they found dumped on the side of the road. In a Facebook post , the Ohio rescue announced that the pup passed away last Wednesday.

Unfortunately, after nine days of effort trying to save her life, Darley wasn’t able to make it. However, she was surrounded by her rescuers when she died. The dog rescue is now asking for leads to help find the animal abusers who dumped her and bring them to justice.
