WAUSEON — A Cleveland area man has entered pleas to four charges in a case that involved a custody-related child abduction.

Lamar Miles, 34, Willowick, pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping, a second-degree felony; endangering children, a third-degree felony; failure to comply with an order of signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor.

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.

A 2023 Kia Sportage and an I-phone — used in the commission of the felony offenses — also are subject to possible forfeiture at sentencing.

The attempted kidnapping charge was amended from kidnapping, a first-degree felony.

A second count of kidnapping, a first-degree felony, will be dismissed at sentencing along with charges of abduction, a third-degree felony; a second count of failure to comply with an order of signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; and two counts of menacing by stalking, each a fourth-degree felony, as part of the plea agreement between Fulton County Prosecutor T. Luke Jones’ office and Miles’ attorney, Fernando Mack of Cleveland.

Miles has been free on a personal-recognizance bond with GPS and TAD monitoring.

Miles was arrested in Swanton on Oct. 20 after allegedly removing his 23-month-old daughter in Cleveland from the mother’s custody, and threatening to harm the child.

Too, he allegedly failed to stop for a law enforcement officer after having been ordered to do so.
