People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has a suggestion for the Cleveland Browns, according to a TMZ report.

The organization is imploring the team to forgo replacing Swagger Jr., the team’s bullmastiff mascot whose passing was announced Tuesday.

Tracy Reiman, executive vice president for the animal rights organization, said Swagger Jr.’s death "should be seen as a damning indictment of an industry that deliberately churns out these doomed breathing-impaired breeds."

She suggested the team use a logo featuring a rescue dog from a shelter.

Of course, Browns fans know that S.J. as he was known was one of several mascots which also include costumed characters Chomps and Brownie the Elf. There are also two other canine siblings, Muni and Stripes.
