    3 Cleveland houses catch fire overnight likely due to fireworks

    CLEVELAND (WJW) – Three houses in Cleveland caught fire early Friday morning.

    According to a press release from the Cleveland Division of Fire , firefighters responded to a house fire in the 12200 block of Osceola Avenue just after 4:20 a.m.

    According to the release, the fire appeared to have started on the second-floor porch of a home and eventually spread to adjacent houses.

    A total of 40 firefighters were called to the scene and those inside the homes were able to make it out safely.

    According to the release , the Red Cross was requested for two adults and one child. One man from the second floor of the home where the initial fire began is “unaccounted for.”

    “We made multiple search attempts and it is possible he was not home at the time of the incident,” the release said.

    15-year-old dies in suspected homicide

    According to the release , the cause of the fire was most likely fireworks.

    An estimated $200,000 in damages was caused by the fire. A request for demolition has been made.

    Damages to the surrounding houses were estimated at $75,000 and $15,000, according to the release.
