COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Bernie Moreno, who’s running for U.S. Senate in Ohio, spoke Tuesday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Moreno, a businessman from Cleveland looking to unseat Democrat Sherrod Brown , was scheduled to speak Tuesday night on the main stage. Before that, he sat down with Chip Brewster of Nexstar Media Wire. You can watch Moreno’s interview with Brewster in the video player above.

Moreno told Brewster that he was a believer in term limits and would restrict himself to two six-year Senate terms if elected.

“I don’t really want to go there forever,” he said. “[Other politicians] want to die in office. They want to be there so long that literally, the last act on Earth is having some staffer wheeling around the Capitol. That’s insane. We have to change that.

“That’s what you’re seeing with President [Donald] Trump, with vice president nominee JD Vance, with my race, with others around the country. People just want outsiders to fix D.C. “

Originally from Colombia, Moreno became a multimillionaire in the U.S. with a successful line of car dealerships and later became a tech executive. Moreno stepped into politics in 2022, when he lost to Vance in the U.S. Senate primary. Vance, who won the general election, was named Monday as Trump’s running mate in the presidential race.

He won the Republican primary in March with Trump’s endorsement .
