FORECAST: Rain and storms — then heat!

(WJW) – A few afternoon pop-up rain showers and thunderstorms will develop across the area on Tuesday. We will see some sunshine. It will be warm and muggy.

Rain and storm coverage will be very small.

Most localized storms will last between 10-20 minutes.

Wednesday, we will see the highest coverage of rain and storms this week as a cold front approaches. Some storms will be heavy.

A few brief showers will linger into Thursday morning.

Behind the front, there will be a slight drop in the heat and humidity. Highs on Thursday will be near 80°.

The heat will start to build back in by the end of the weekend and continue through much of next week. During this time, highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90°.
