Suzy the dog beats cancer, gets forever family after 4 years

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A local dog has crossed some major milestones off her bucket list.

Suzy, who was a hospice foster at City Dogs Cleveland , beat cancer and now has a forever home.

Fox 8 first introduced you to Suzy in 2020 . Suzy had terminal cancer, so her foster mom made a bucket list to make the most of her remaining time.

Those adventures included riding a Harley, having her own lemonade stand and even tying the knot!

Fox 8 covered the pup’s nuptials in October of 2020 .

Now, after 4 years in foster care (1,530 days to be exact), Suzy has a family of her own.

According to a social media page that follows Suzy, her new family recently lost their dog.

It turned out that Suzy was the perfect fit.

“I now have a house full of people, and I’m the only dog. So, they shower me with all their love and attention – it’s like all my dreams have come true,” a post written for Suzy said.

“Not only did I beat cancer, but I also got to check one more thing off my bucket list – I got my very own family!” the post reads.
