On the first day of practice for the Cleveland Browns during their 2024 training camp session, the team was able to have wide receiver Amari Cooper out there. Despite recent worries, Cooper revealed that it was always going to work out like that.

"Holding out was never in the cards,” said Cooper on Thursday. “I don't have experience doing it. I'm a routine kind of guy. I need those reps. I was always going to be here at training camp."

Cleveland was recently able to make Cooper a bit happier after he was absent for mandatory minicamp back in June . The Browns added $5 million in incentives that can be reached for Cooper and they opted to guarantee the $20 million that he was due, as well . With that being said, Cooper says he had no plans of holding out in training camp even if that did not happen.

When asked if he would want to finish his career with Cleveland, the 30-year-old Cooper didn’t shy away from the fact that he does want that to happen.

“I would. I’m really the type of guy, like, I don’t really like change,” Cooper said Thursday. “Change happens, which a lot of times it inevitably does. You have to be able to adjust and adapt to any situation. I’m very adaptable, but at the same time, I don’t necessarily like the change. So yeah, I want to be here.”

The incentives that Cooper has are unknown at this point but with how his recent seasons have gone, they surely could be reachable. Last season, Cooper had 1,250 receiving yards and five touchdowns to lead the Browns. The yardage was a career-high.

"I'm content for sure. Obviously, I wanted more guarantees in the contract. If I have to go earn it, that's what I'll do."

Now, the Browns can get through training camp without the worry of any players holding out. There are a few players currently sidelined, but everyone that is supposed to be in attendance is and that is all you can ask for .
