Sunny, pleasant evening kicks off weekend

(WJW) — Friday afternoon will be mostly sunny and pleasant. It is not going to be too hot or humid. Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. If you can, try to get outside at some point today.

Friday night will be mostly clear. Overnight lows will range from the mid 50s for places well inland to near 60 degrees in Cleveland.

The heat will start to build back into the area this weekend. Highs on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 80s and in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees on Sunday. You will also notice an uptick in the humidity on Sunday.

The heat and humidity will continue through next week. Highs all next week will be in the mid to upper 80s. Scattered rain showers and storms will be possible at times next week as well. Right now, it looks like the highest coverage of rain next week will come on Tuesday.

Rain is needed across much of Northeast Ohio. A large part of the area is under moderate drought conditions. Here’s a look at the official rainfall numbers from across the area since June 1. The rainfall deficit this summer in Cleveland is quickly approaching 3 inches. The rainfall deficit in Mansfield is over 5 inches.
