MAXWELTON, WV (WVNS) – As the Cleveland Browns hold camp at the Greenbrier, many may ask if The Greenbrier is capitalizing on this deal.

Not only is the team’s presence at the Greenbrier good for business, but it helps plenty of businesses in the Greenbrier Valley area.

The Executive Director of the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation, Ruthana Beezley, told 59News how the Browns are helping many local businesses.

“From the minute that plane touches down at the airport, that economic activity generated by the team helps our region, because, you know, it’s not only they want a place to sleep, but they want a place to eat, they want to explore, they want to go out and see what makes the Greenbrier Valley great and there’s plenty of opportunities to do that and spread their dollar here,” explained Beezley.

The tourism industry is a major economic driver for Greenbrier County.

According to Beezley, Greenbrier County brought in 380 million dollars of direct spending in 2022. This money is vital to the county and the 2,400 jobs located there.
