Training camp is in full swing around the NFL and the Cleveland Browns completed their second day on Thursday.

Week 1 will be here before we know it and that means the Dallas Cowboys are coming to town. Additionally, it is a pretty big deal because it is Tom Brady’s first game in the booth for Fox.

All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett, who is from the Dallas, Texas area, has sent a simple but serious message about the game over a month ahead of time.

“It’s Dallas, it’s home. I don’t plan on losing. That’s it,” Garrett told the media on Friday from the Greenbrier in West Virginia.

To start training camp, Garrett has not seen a whole lot of action through the first two days. The Browns are using this week as a ramp-up period and playing it slow with their star defender. Cleveland had their first 11-on-11 session on Friday, the second day of action.

“It’s a ramp up here that we’re doing,” said Garrett. “Making sure, you know, everything’s feeling right and just checking all the lights in the car and making sure the engine’s running well and when we’re finally there, ready to go.”

Coming off of another All-Pro season and his first Defensive Player of the Year award , Garrett pointed out what he has done this offseason to improve his game even more.

“I watched a lot of tape, not only of myself, but of others and watching how they deal with circumstances or situations I get put in this double team, chip, outside chip, wide receiver, tight end, from the backfield, triple teams, whatever it is, looking at how they go through their process and beating those and trying to implement that into my game however I can. Watching those guys definitely helps take my game to the next level because we have so many talented guys at the position. So just trying to learn from my own mistakes, watching it, you know, day in and day out, making sure I minimize the mistakes that I made.”

In the past, Garrett has just one matchup with the Cowboys and that was back in 2020 when he had two sacks and a forced fumble against quarterback Dak Prescott . Cleveland won that game by a score of 49-38.

It appears as if Garrett has a little extra motivation to play his hometown team with what he said and it is going to be here before we know it.
