FORECAST: Very active week with frequent storms

(WJW) – Tuesday will bring more spotty rain and storms with temperatures in the low 80s.

Precipitation will gradually move east.

Expect a few spotty showers and storms mainly across the eastern areas this afternoon with drier regions to the west.

This week, the pattern is very active (as advertised 10 days ago.) Multiple fronts with frequent storms through Saturday.

A break on Wednesday before a stronger front arrives late Thursday/Friday and into Saturday.

The rain is needed across much of Northeast Ohio. A large part of the area is under moderate drought conditions. Here’s a look at the official rainfall numbers from across the area since June 1. The rainfall deficit this summer in Cleveland is more than 3 inches. The rainfall deficit in Mansfield is over 5.5 inches.

The long-range outlook based on pattern recognition shows more continuously warmer temperatures and higher humidity through early next week.

Heat and humidity then backs off around August 7-8th.
