WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry's son, Jacob Henry, has signed a contract with the promotion that catapulted his father to prominence.

Henry made the important announcement during his father’s DJ set at the Remix Rumble pro wrestling-themed nightclub in Cleveland on Thursday evening, August 1.

Amid chants of "NXT" from the crowd, which is WWE's developmental brand, the 18-year-old collegiate wrestler proudly announced the news.

“I think you guys should be the first to know that I'm going to be a future superstar and it's been put on paper. I have officially signed a deal with the WWE... It's official, I’m locked in.”

Henry previously committed to the University of Oklahoma in February of this year after an impressive high school career, where he won over 100 matches.

Henry's WWE debut is yet to be determined , and it’s unclear whether he will finish his collegiate career first before making the jump to professional wrestling.

Mark Henry previously stated that Jacob has huge aspirations to be a star in professional wrestling instead of competitive wrestling.

"His true passion is pro wrestling. He's not trying to be the Olympic champion. He said, 'Dad, I'm not trying to go to the Pro Bowl or win the Super Bowl.' He said, 'I want to main event WrestleMania. I wanna go to Japan and be champion," the Texas native told TMZ Sports.

    Mark Henry's Legendary WWE Career

Mark Henry is best known for his lengthy 25-year tenure in the WWE from 1996 to 2021, earning the nickname of "The World's Strongest Man" due to his intimidating physique.

The 53-year-old is a two-time world champion, having won the ECW Championship in 2008 and the World Heavyweight Championship in 2011. He retired from in-ring competition after WrestleMania 33 in 2017 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Henry joined rival promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in May 2021, where he served as a commentator for their Rampage program and a coach. He left the company at the end of May 2024 after his contract expired.
