Over 150 Bikes Being Given Away to Kids at Big Diamond Speedway on Friday Night
Over 150 bikes will be given away Friday Night by the Getz family to kids attending Big Diamond Speedway races. It will be “Topless” night this Friday, July 19th at Big Diamond Speedway. That’s right, the Quandel Concrete Modifieds will be going topless racing 30 laps for a $7,000 first place prize. Not to be left out, the Uss Achey, Inc 602 Crate Sportsman will also be Topless and racing in a 20-lap feature for some extra cash with $1,200 going to the winner on Dukmen Enterprises Night. Rounding out the big racing card will be the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners along with the return of the Big Creek Concrete Rookies who will also go topless.

$5.9M in Tax Credits to Boost Affordable Housing in Philadelphia
HARRISBURG, PA — Senator Vincent Hughes has announced substantial funding for affordable housing in Philadelphia’s 7th district. Over $5.9 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) will support four new rental housing projects, bringing 163 affordable units to the area. Of these, 39 units will be accessible for individuals with disabilities. The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency will manage these tax credits.

Montgomery, Pa. — A woman’s husband exposed her for stealing Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) funds to cover credit card debt and personal expenses. Elizabeth Jane DeSantis, 44, of Montgomery, admitted to taking the funds during an interview with state police investigators in May 2023, Trooper Josiah Reiner said. On Wednesday at 5:07 p.m. a flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 8:15 p.m. for Lackawanna, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. "At 5:07 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," explains the weather service. Josh Shapiro signed a bill on Monday that amends the Liquor Code and bumps up the number of hours licensed establishments in the state can host happy hours from 14 to 24 hours a week.
