Dry and warm weekend, rain returns by Monday
WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Happy Friday! This weekend, temperatures will rise over the next two days as rain chances leave us for the weekend. By Monday, it’s looking more and more likely to be a rainy day, with solid rain chances lasting through Wednesday. This rain will be much appreciated due to the existing drought across the region. Temperatures will drop slightly on Monday, returning to the upper 70s. A warming trend will follow next week, ending up in the mid-80s by the end of the week. Enjoy the warm weekend!

Mount Hope excited to expand city’s boundaries with Appalachian Heights site
MOUNT HOPE, WV (WOAY) – The city of Mount Hope recently made an intergovernmental agreement with Raleigh County regarding the Appalachian Heights site. Mayor Michael Kessinger calls it a positive step that they annexed Route 19 south into Raleigh at the North Beckley exit, expanding the city’s boundaries and the pipe yard adjacent to 19 to the right.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A Kanawha County grand jury handed down an indictment against a man charged with the shooting death of a Charleston woman in December 2023. Dominick Gray, of Columbus, was indicted on July 26 on charges of first degree murder, using a gun during a felony, malicious wounding and being a convicted felon with a gun.
