This includes areas around Grand Junction, Fruita, Glade Park, Palisade, Clifton, Orchard Mesa, the Redlands, Parachute, Rifle, and Glenwood Springs. The Kings Canyon Fire burning on the Uncompahgre Plateau west of Glade Park and about 15 miles southwest of Fruita is billowing smoke. That smoke is expected to settle into the Grand Valley tonight. Air quality could become unhealthy, and it could be especially dangerous for those who have respiratory illness or heart disease. It’s best to avoid being outside in the smoke.
