Registration opens for CISD classes on July 20

Registration for classes in the 2024-25 school year at Clifton ISD opens on Saturday, July 20.

All families must register in-person. Students in middle and high school must attend registration with a parent or legal guardian for the course advising and graduation plan verification.

Clifton ISD is asking families to furnish the basic supplies for their students this year. The basics include pens, pencils, papers, folders, binders, spiral/ composition books, crayons, markers, backpacks, glue, scissors, and/or pencil pouches.

Further supply lists are found on the district’s website, but here is a rundown of the items:

All students

Each student needs to have a backpack (no rolling backpacks) and earbuds or headphones. Headphones are specifically recommended for students in grades PK-2.

Pre-K

Students need 1 pack of 24 count Crayola Crayons, 1 pack of 8 count Crayola Washable Broad Line Markers, 1 bottle of Elmer’s Glue, 3 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 1 70-page wide-ruled spiral notebook, and 2 plastic pocket folders with pockets and brads (yellow and purple). Additionally, they should have a change of clothes (pants, shirt, socks, underwear) and 1 towel/ nap mat for rest time.

Kindergarten

Students need 1 box of quart-sized storage bags (girls) or gallon-sized storage bags (boys), 2 My First Pencils (jumbo size), 2 large pink erasers (block), 2 packs of 24 count Crayola Crayons, 1 pack of 8 count Crayola Washable Broad Line Markers, 1 pack of 10 count Crayola Washable Fine Line Markers, 3 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 1 pair of blunt tip scissors, 1 primary composition book (with picture space at the top), 1 cloth/nylon zipper pouch, and a change of clothes (pants, shirt, socks, underwear).

1st grade

Students need 1 box of quart-sized storage bags, 24 wooden #2 pencils, 2 large pink erasers (block), 2 packs of 24 count Crayola Crayons, 1 pack of 8 count Crayola Washable Broad Line Markers (boys), 1 bottle of Elmer’s Glue (girls), 6 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 1 pair of blunt tip scissors, 1 wide-ruled composition book, 2 plastic pocket folders with brads (red and blue), and 1 cloth/ nylon zipper pouch.

2nd grade

Students need 24 wooden #2 pencils, 1 pack of 12 count colored pencils, 4 large pink erasers (block), 2 packs of 24 count Crayola Crayons, 1 pack of 8 count Crayola Washable Broad Line Markers, 1 bottle of Elmer’s Glue, 6 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 1 pair of scissors, 2 wideruled composition books, 4 plastic pocket folders with brads (2 orange and 2 blue), and 1 cloth/ nylon zipper pouch.

3rd grade

Students need 12 wooden #2 pencils, 1 pack of 12 count colored pencils, 4 large pink erasers (block), 4 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 1 pair of scissors, 2 plastic pocket folders with brads (red and blue), 1 yellow highlighter, 3 wide-ruled composition books, 1 package of wide-ruled notebook paper, and 1 cloth/nylon zipper pouch.

4th grade

Students need 24 mechanical pencils (0.9mm) and refill lead, 2 large erasers (block), 4 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 3 plastic pocket folders with brads (red, blue, purple), 1 package of 4-color highlighters, 1 wide-ruled composition book, 1 cloth/nylon zipper pouch, and 1 handheld pencil sharpener.

5th grade

Students need 24 mechanical pencils (0.9mm) and 4 packs of refill lead, 4 packs of 12 count colored pencils, 2 large pink erasers (block), 1 package of pencil topper erasers, 2 bottles of Elmer’s Glue, 2 plastic pocket folders with brads (yellow and black), 1 package of 4-color highlighters, 4 wide-ruled composition books, 1 pair of scissors, and 1 cloth/nylon zipper pouch.

6th, 7th, & 8th grades

Students need #2 pencils, red/blue/black pens, 1 pack of 12 count colored pencils, 2 large pink erasers (block), 4 Elmer’s Glue Sticks, 2 spiral notebooks, 2 composition books (1 quad-rule ¼ inch), 4 plastic pocket folders with brads (at least 1 green), 1 pack of 4x4 grid filler paper (preferably with 3 holes), a 2-inch binder (6th grade only), and 1 cloth/nylon zipper pouch.

9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th grades

Students need #2 pencils, 1 pack of 12 count colored pencils, red/blue/black pens, glue sticks, 1 pair of scissors, 2 spiral notebooks, 1 package of notebook paper, highlighters, and 1 pack of 8 count Crayola markers.

For specific classes

Alg. I: Students need a spiral notebook or composition book.

P r eCa l / Ca l / G e om (H): Students need a composition book and a folder with pockets and brads.

English I: Students need a 5-subject spiral notebook and 1 folder with pockets and brads.

English II: Students need a composition book and 2 folders with pockets and brads.

English III & IV: Students need a spiral notebook.

IPC: Students need 1 composition book.

Biology: Students need a composition book and a folder with pockets and brads.

Chemistry (H) Env.Sci/Research & Design: Students need a composition book.

Spanish 1 (CMS & CHS): Students need 1 composition book, 1 pack of Crayola Fine Line Markers (10 count), and 1 folder with pockets and brads.

Spanish 2/3/4: Students need 1 pack of Crayola Fine Line Markers (10 count).

These lists are basic school supplies and quantities needed by students attending Clifton ISD. Some supplies may need to be replenished during the school year. Students may also receive requests for additional supplies from individual teachers.
