    Connecticut Gets 1000-Year Rains From Huge Storms.

    Part of Connecticut received over 10 inches of rain, which forecasts said were likely to occur only once every thousand years. Some places received more than five inches in a single hour.

    According to a Boston TV station, several rivers will crest at several feet above normal will trigger massive floods that may not end until today

    Property damage will be in the millions of dollars. Two people have died.

    California

    Is this a thousand-year rain, or will climate change make the circumstance more frequent? The most recent drought in California was labeled a 1,200-year drought, followed by two years of drenching rain.

    Flash floods hit parts of Fairfield and Litchfield Counties. The storm’s cost may take days to be tallied.
