Dozens of pet owners line up for low-cost curbside clinic
MILAN, Ill. (KWQC) - The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is providing low-cost vaccines, exams, and other services, and pet owners are responding by the dozens. The clinic hosts a drive-up service that allows customers to bring their pets in the car to get checked from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. every Wednesday and the first Saturday of every month. Services include vaccinations, medicines, grooming and exams.

Investigators: Man arrested after setting fire to basement window to get in his house
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Investigators said an 18-year-old set fire to a basement window to get into his house, and while being arrested he spat on a firefighter. Isaiah Guzman, of Davenport, is charged with reckless use of fire and assault on a person in certain occupations, both serious misdemeanors.
Former Freight House Farmers’ Market official gets 3 years probation for embezzling
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The woman who stole thousands of dollars from Freight House Farmers’ Market while she served as executive director has been sentenced. Lorraine Beaman was sentenced on June 28 to three years of probation and will pay $10,455 in restitution to Freight House Farmers’ Market. She was also fined $3,500.
Burlington house fire caused by lightning strike
Burlington, IA- The Burlington Fire Department says that a house fire on Tuesday, July 2nd, was caused by a lightning strike. According to a news release, at about 10:57 PM Tuesday the Burlington Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house on fire at 1800 River Drive in Burlington.

Davenport man sentenced to 10 years on drug, firearm charges
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on drug and firearm charges. Trevon Demon Horne, 23, was sentenced to 126 months in prison on June 26 for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in furtherance to a drug trafficking crime.
