Ohio Medical Doctor Sentenced to Prison for Health Care Fraud Scheme
July 19, 2024, Press Release from the United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of Ohio: TOLEDO – Ankita Singh, 42, formerly of Maumee, Ohio, was sentenced to 26 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary, for her role in a durable medical equipment (DME) scheme that defrauded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Medicare Program. She was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $4,470,931.02, serve two years of supervised release, and pay a special assessment fee of $600.

The Best Western hotel at 6889 Sunset Strip Ave. NW in Jackson Township has sold, according to the latest real estate transfers filed with the Stark County Auditor's Office. The property was purchased by RBP Hotel Group LLC, which lists a Canton mailing address on county records, from Shree Krishna Inc. for $4.55 million.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ismail Samad, operator of Loiter Café & Marketplace, says he already has burned one week of the allotted 30 days a Cuyahoga County judge recently gave him to open the East Cleveland community hub. He’s says he’s discouraged, alleging that his landlord – the Cuyahoga County Land Bank – will not supply adequate electrical service for Loiter’s corner of the Mickey’s Building at 12250 Euclid Avenue where the café is located.
