Friday afternoon, a group of Milwaukee Public school students got a chance to put their mark on a small but high profile part of the convention, the balloon drop. A group of 14 students who are part of a paid summer internship program working as hotel ambassadors for the RNC delegates inflated over 100,000 balloons. The iconic balloon drop will happen after the candidates acceptance speech Thursday night. GlassHouse Balloon Company, who has designed the drop for the last ten republican conventions described this drop as a “flag type, with stripes of colors and then a mix of color.” Full Story.

The Manitowoc Area Visitor and Convention Bureau is hoping a deal can be struck soon with the City of Manitowoc. 19-year-old in Fond du Lac arrested after allegedly robbing a Kwik Trip of $600+
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Fond du Lac say they arrested a 19-year-old robbery suspect who is accused of taking over $600 from a Kwik Trip Monday morning. According to the Fond du Lac Police Department, on July 15 around 3:40 a.m., officers responded to a Kwik Trip for a reported robbery. Police say the suspect went into the Kwik Trip and placed a note on the counter that read ‘Give me all you got in the cash registers before anyone gets hurt.’
