Keanu Reeves Has ‘List of Top-Quality Men’ to Set Sandra Bullock Up With When She’s ‘Ready’

After Keanu Reeves reunited with Speed costar Sandra Bullock, the actor is now determined to help his longtime friend find love again, sources exclusively tell Closer.

“Keanu adores Sandra and so does his girlfriend Alexandra Grant,” explains a source. “They love spending time with her.”

However, things have been tough for the Miss Congeniality star, 60. Last year, Sandra’s partner of eight years, Bryan Randall, died on August 5, 2023, at age 57 from complications of ALS — and she has struggled ever since.

Her friend Keanu, 60, is no stranger to loss. When he was dating Jennifer Syme in the late 1990s, she gave birth to their stillborn daughter on December 24, 1999. Then, in 2001, Jennifer died at age 28 when her vehicle collided with three parked in Los Angeles.

“Keanu knows firsthand how tricky the grieving process can be, so he’s certainly not pushing Sandra to rush into anything new, but if and when she’s ready to meet someone, he’s got a list of top-quality men he wants to set her up with,” the Closer source says.

Though Keanu tends to remain under the radar, “He’s a lot more sociable than people know,” the insider explains. “He’s got a lot of friends in the arts world, thanks to Alexandra, as well as all his buddies from the racing track and of course all his Hollywood connections.”

Adds the source, “His network is vast, and he prides himself on being able to sniff out quality people. He’s protective of Sandra and wants to see her date, so when she’s ready, he’ll be thrilled to play cupid for her.”

Keanu and Sandra are “also very eager to work together soon and have a lot of possible projects they’re considering right now,” reveals the source, “so if things work out the way they’re hoping, they’ll be spending a lot of time together in the near future.”

Earlier this month, Keanu and Sandra joined Speed director Jan de Bont at Beyond Fest at American Cinematheque at Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles. They also participated in a Q&A session to discuss making the 1994 film and its legacy. The red-carpet appearance marked the first for Sandra since the death of her partner, Bryan.

Earlier this year, on July 26, Sandra celebrated her 60th birthday, her first birthday since Bryan’s death.

Ahead of the milestone, an insider told Closer that she planned to have a low-key day with her kids, Louis and Laila. “It’s bittersweet that the two dates, Sandra’s birthday and the anniversary of losing Bryan, are so close to each other. She and the children will commemorate both, though,” the insider said in May. “They’ve gone through it all together. She wants to show them that it is healthy to grieve, but it’s also OK for their lives to move forward and to enjoy happy times again.”

The source noted that Sandra — who took a step back from making public appearances in Hollywood — leaned on friends like Keanu and Jennifer Aniston to help her manage her grief.

“Sandra decided to take the hiatus for Bryan, for herself, and for the kids,” the insider explained. “Sandra has slowly been doing more and trying to be a strong example.”
