Bernalillo Farmers Market 2024 Season Underway
The Bernalillo Farmers Market opened its 8th season on June 21, but the market is still looking for food vendors. Located at 370 Rotary Park Rd., the outdoor market will be open every Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. through Oct. 25. FDA approves first ever medicated feed for wild quail created by Texas Tech professor
A Texas Tech professor's nine-year effort research effort to develop an anthelmintic drug for parasite control in wild quail populations has gotten the final nod of approval from the FDA. According to a release from the FDA, the drug will be integrated with feed and is effective in controlling parasites in wild quail in their natural habitat. For example, eyeworm parasite infection levels in the Rolling Plains region of West Texas and cecal worms throughout Texas. ...
Flooding Cancels Racing July 20 at Ruidoso Downs
Ruidoso Downs canceled races 8-12 July 20 after flooding poured into parts of the infield, racetrack, and backstretch areas. The New Mexico track has been hard hit this summer. Last month, nearby wildfires ravaged homes, forests, and brush areas, and in the weeks since, flooding from rainstorms has wreaked havoc.
