Italian Festival Organizer Says Event Will Not Happen
Organizers of a downtown Butler event are responding to issues raised by City officials by canceling the event. Last week, Mayor Bob Dandoy addressed Council about discussions he had with organizers for the Italian Festival scheduled for August 23rd, 24th, and 25th. The main issue was allowing set-up on Thursday which removes parking and negatively impacts businesses on Main Street.

Four face indictments in northern West Virginia for federal firearms violations
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Four people have been indicted for violating federal firearms laws in northern West Virginia. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Todd M. Houston, 35, of Morgantown, and Kayla N. Taylor, 33, of Montrose, have been charged with conspiracy to straw purchase firearms in Monongalia County. Court documents said Taylor falsified documents to purchase firearms for Houston, who is prohibited from having firearms because of prior robbery and burglary convictions in Monongalia County Circuit Court. Damson and Houston were taken into custody while attempting to sell boxes of ammunition at an area pawn shop.
