The US is $35,000,000,000,000.00 in DEBT. And that number is claiming by the second. It amounts to approximately $100,000 for every American. EVERY single one - young, old, woman, man, transgender. And it's not going away. It will need to be repaid somehow. So you younger people way as well accept the fact that you may never be able to retire.

I paid off my car as fast as possible and kept up the maintenance 15 years later I’m still driving it. I always bought used cars and kept them as long as possible. I bought a house and paid it off in 13 years. Always making extra payments every year. Stated my St Ira’s 30 years ago. I did stay home vacation or visited family. I retired early and I am financially sound. I have no one to blame but myself 😁. I lived a simple live and did not try to keep up with the Jones. Social security is a supplement, and that have always said that. It was never meant to retire on. As someone on here said if they worked and earned more then yes they r entitled to higher amount. If one was ok working on and off or low paying jobs then this is what ur check is. U make ur own choices. If u don’t care why should anyone else. U made ur choice and it’s ur responsibility not anyone else’s.
