My friend's grandmother had a full set of jewels (earrings, necklace, a ring, and a bracelet) made from white gold and jet. She had it made in 1925 because she wanted that to be what she wore to her future husband's funeral. Mind you, she wasn't even engaged or anything yet haha. A bit morbid, but kinda badass. And true to her word, when my friend's grandpa passed, she wore the jewels. She then said the eldest daughters of her kids would get a piece from the set each. But one of them only had boys. So the earrings go to the first and eldest granddaughter, bracelet to another, necklace to a third, and the ring will go to her first male grandson lol. I'm obsessed with her spirit 😂
