A travel alert has been issued for Mississippi drivers in Coahoma County after a series of what appears to be random shootings. The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office issued Wednesday night a travel alert on Facebook after “multiple shootings” in the area of Highway 1 and all entrances to Friars Point, near Clarksdale.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - After a brief break from the excessive heat, muggy conditions build back into the weekend. For today ‘feels like’ temperatures will be in the triple digits, even up to 105 for areas in the Delta region which prompted a Heat Advisory for Lee and Phillips county Arkansas and Tunica, Coahoma, and Quitman counties in Mississippi.
