COAL CITY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Folks looking for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat in the Coal City area need look no further than Captain & Ducky’s Coffee House.

Situated on Coal City Road, Captain & Ducky’s got its start in August of 2023, and has since become a hot spot for the local youth.

“ We’ve become the teenage hangout of Coal City, so we’ve always got tons of teens hanging out in here,” says Captain & Ducky’s owner/operator, Tabitha Stebel. “You know, there’s nothing else to do really in the area. Any teen that’s close enough to walk here or if they can drive, they’re here every evening, every weekend.”

Along with managing the establishment on the business end, Stebel is directly involved in the day-to-day operations of Captain & Ducky’s along with her husband, Matt.

It was after returning to work following a period spent as a stay-at-home mom, that Stebel resolved to use her passion to bring something substantial to the Coal City community.

“We have always wanted to be involved in the community in a real way, a brick-and-mortar kind of way,” said Matt of Captain & Ducky’s origins. “We saved everything we could, decided we wanted to be our own bosses, and started a business.”

Along with all the coffee options one could hope to find, the shop also offers a variety of hot menu item selections such as sausage egg & cheese biscuits, pepperoni rolls, and more, including weekly special items. These selections are posted each week to the Captain & Ducky’s LLC social media .

Captain & Ducky’s is located at 1885 Coal City Road in Coal City, West Virginia.
