Theft reported at Union County coffee shop
Mifflinburg, Pa. — Someone broke into a coffee shop trailer over the weekend in Union County and took several hundred dollars, according to police. Trp. Hill of state police at Milton says the weekend of June 29 and 30, the unknown suspect broke into IV Coffee Co.'s trailer on Red Barn Road in Buffalo Township and took $300. The coffee shop made a post Monday on their Facebook page, asking the public for help with leads for the burglary incident. "Over the weekend our Mifflinburg location that holds our trailer was broken into. Hundreds of dollars taken. We have already gone through the appropriate avenue to report it and they have advised that I make a post asking for help from my followers.If you happen to have any leads or heard any talk of someone bragging about this, please contact me (Kari) or Trooper Hill with the Pennsylvania State Police," the post read. "And just a gentle reminder that every single little dollar makes an impact for small businesses like mine that pay for our electric bill, little league for my boy and so much more." Barbara Criswell, a pioneering figure at Service 1st Federal Credit Union, is retiring from its Board of Directors after nearly 40 years of service. Wanted Man Stole Firearm From Poconos Gun Range: Police
Lawrence J. Handlovic, 34, walked into Pocono Pistol at 85 North 1st Street on July 4, said police. He rented a 9mm Glock handgun, used the indoor shooting range, then fled with the gun through an emergency exit, according to investigators. Handlovic was gone when police arrived but he left behind his driver's license which authorities used to identify him.
Couple Charged with Assaulting Another Couple with Bats
SHAMOKIN – The News Item reports…A Shamokin couple has been charged with assault following a fight Saturday morning on East Cameron Street in Shamokin. Police say 38-year-old Stephanie Tinley swung a baseball bat at another woman several times, hitting her in the back and elbow. Her boyfriend, 40-year-old Robert Shaffer, is accused of smashing the windshield of another man’s vehicle with another baseball bat. Tinley and Shaffer were arraigned and released from Northumberland County Jail after posting bail.
