SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the following appointments:. Melany Acosta-Parra, of Kerman, has been appointed to the California Youth Empowerment Commission. Acosta-Parra has been a Recreation Leader for the City of Kerman Parks and Recreation Department since 2021. She served on the Kerman Youth Commission from 2021 to 2024. The program partners are facilitating the 10-year update of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the residents of San Benito County, last updated in 2010.
