Naples Airport Authority recognized for education efforts
Naples Airport Authority’s Fly Safe, Fly Quiet program received a state award for educating and informing the public about its efforts to be a good neighbor and follow safety practices. The NAA last month received the Public Relations Society of America Sunshine District’s 2024 Award of Commendation for Integrated Communication for the education and information it conveys to all its audiences through its integrated campaign platform. The FSFQ program focuses on a voluntary curfew aimed at reducing airport related noise during “quiet hours” from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. The authority’s leaderboard lists the quietest operators, A-Rated Operators, those that flew at least 50 times monthly based on three elements: voluntary nighttime curfew violations; arrival altitude; and aircraft noise Stage 3, which involves jets; and a 1,000-foot perimeter threshold for turbo and piston operators flying unnecessarily low while departing and arriving.
