    Here's where you can go to beat the heat in Kootenai County

    KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho - Are you needing ways to beat the heat this week? Kootenai County Emergency Management has a list of places you can go to stay safe and cool.

    You can see the list of locations open Tuesday below:

    • Coeur d'Alene
      • 2nd Street Commons: 405 North 2nd Street. Open 1-5 p.m.
      • Coeur d'Alene Public Library: 702 East Front Avenue. Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
      • Silver Lake Mall: 200 West Hanley Avenue. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Harrison
      • Harrison Public Library: 111 South Coeur d'Alene Avenue. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Hayden
      • Hayden Public Library: 8385 North Government Way. Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
      • Hayden Senior Center: 1250 West Lancaster Road. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Post Falls
      • Real Life Ministries: 1860 North Cecil Road. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      • 3rd Avenue Marketplace: 1215 East 3rd Avenue. Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Rathdrum
      • Rathdrum Public Library: 16320 Highway 41. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Spirit Lake
      • Spirit Lake Public Library: 32575 North 5th Avenue. Open 1-6 p.m.
    • Worley
      • Worley Senior Center: 9936 West E Street.

    Kootenai County Emergency Management said splash pads in the area are also open and fun for the whole family.

    Remember during extreme heat, drink lots of water, apply sunscreen often, and never leave kids or pets in vehicles.
