According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed in Spokane Superior Court, 33-year-old Jesse Roullier failed a field sobriety test and told Washington State Patrol he had "a couple of shots" before the crash.

18-year-old Rogan Murrell and 17-year-old Jayneat Morgan were both killed in the crash. An 18-year-old man was life-flighted to the hospital. WSP says he had multiple broken bones and a serious head injury that threatened his life.

The crash occurred Saturday night around 8 p.m. on SR-27 three miles north of Rockford.

When WSP arrived on scene, a trooper asked Roullier what happened, and he told them the car with the three teenagers crossed over and struck him head-on.

WSP determined Roullier was the one who actually crossed the center lines and struck the teenagers head-on.

Troopers said they could smell alcohol in the car and on Roullier's breath. They also said his eyes were watery and droopy.

Court documents say Roullier failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer.

Roullier was taken to the hospital for his injuries. While at the hospital, WSP says Roullier told a trooper he had shots of vodka by himself at Coeur d'Alene Casino about an hour before driving. He said he was unsure how much he drank.

Roullier was arrested and booked on DUI, vehicular homicide, and vehicular assault.
