In basketball, Eli averaged 9.4 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game in helping the Indians to another 20-plus win season. In baseball, Eli was a solid contributor with a .287 batting average, .430 on base percentage and 26 RBI. He also had what will most certainly go down as the most famous walk in Altamont baseball history.
Suspected arsonist arrested for setting fire to relative’s home

I had to do a double-take when I saw this earthquake appear on the USGS earthquake map this morning. Area Athletes Play Well At Green Hills Ram Jam
Green Hills Golf Course in Mount Vernon hosted the Ram Jam on Thursday. Salem sophomore Mya Russell won the 14-18 year old division after rained turned the 18-hole event, into a 9-hole tournament after rain moved through with Russell on the 12th hold. Mya won her division with Taylor Ice 3rd. Salem’s Jaren Harmon and Regan Shuler also competed in the same division.

Salem’s Steve Ludwig finished 3rd at the PBA 50 Monacelli Championship in Michigan. After qualifying he was 2nd in the step ladder final. Tom Hess, qualified 5th out of the 6th finalists, won 4 straight matches to win the title, which includes beating Ludwig in the semifinals. Hess is a PBA Hall of Famer.

EDWARDSVILLE - Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 is still looking to fill several positions before the start of the school year.
