Montgomery County deputies arrest burglary suspect following car chase

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. — Montgomery County deputies arrested a burglary suspect following a car chase that started in Coffeyville and ended north of Tyro on U.S. Highway 75 on June 6.

Montgomery County deputies originally responded to a break-in call in Coffeyville and when they got there they learned the suspect, Terry Reagans-Clark, ran from the scene, got into a car and drove off.

This prompted a chase as Clark took off down Highway 166 and continued into Tyro before going north on County Road 2700.

The Kansas Highway Patrol deployed Stop Sticks at the intersection of County Road 2700 and County Road 3200, which caused one of the suspect's tires to be disabled.

Clark continued to U.S. Highway 75 before coming to a stop and running out of the car on foot.

Deputies quickly arrested Clark, who is from Muskogee, and he was taken to the Montgomery County jail and booked on charges of felony fleeing, attempting to elude law enforcement and reckless driving.

The case has been forwarded to the Montgomery County Attorney's Office for formal charges.

"I am thankful that we were able to locate and apprehend this suspect. The strong working relationship between area law enforcement agencies played a crucial role in this successful operation," said Montgomery County Sheriff Ron Wade. "Good job to the deputy for pursuing the suspect as safely as possible. I am also grateful for the Kansas Highway Patrol's assistance in deploying the Stop Sticks."
