    Coleman, Wausaukee victorious in M&O play

    CRIVITZ —The Coleman High School baseball team took a 6-3 win at Crivitz in M&O Conference action on Tuesday.

    The Wolverines outhit the Cougars 6-4, but eight walks and four errors swung the advantage to the Cougars.

    Crivitz struck first when Tegan Werner singled, stole second and scored on a single from JJ Brand in the bottom of the first. Colten Tarmann singled to put two on with one out, but Coleman’s Logan Kurth struck out the side with no further damage done.

    Kurth put up zeros for the next five innings before giving way to Wyatt Bieber to close out the contest.

    Meanwhile, Crivitz’s Jackson Schramm held the Cougars scoreless through three innings after working out of a bases-loaded one-out jam with a pair of strikeouts in the third.

    Miles Lewis singled and scored to tie the game in the fourth inning.

    In the fifth, the Cougars took advantage of a pair of walks with singles from Kollin Peters and Brady Dufek to plate two runs and chase Schramm from the game.

    A pair of Crivitz errors led to three Coleman runs in the sixth inning, pushing the score to 6-1.

    The Wolverines plated a pair of runs in the seventh inning and had the bases loaded with one out, but Bieber induced a comebacker that turned into a 1-2-3 game-ending double play.

    Due UpColeman (8-1, 4-1 M&O) will host Gibraltar today (Friday). Crivitz (4-5, 3-1 M&O) played at Niagara on Thursday, with results unavailable at press time.

    Wausaukee 17, Goodman-Pembine 2DUNBAR, Wis. — The Wausaukee High School baseball team scored a run-shortened 17-2 victory in five innings against Goodman-Pembine on Tuesday.

    The Rangers took advantage of ten free passes issued by Goodman-Pembine pitchers as well as four errors, needing only eight hits to score their 17 runs.

    The Rangers plated three runs in the first, but Goodman-Pembine came back with a two-run double from Kyle Braaten in the bottom of the first.

    Wausaukee put the game away with a nine-run second inning before plating five more in the fourth.

    Meanwhile Kayden and Evan Suennen combined to limit Goodman-Pembine to just two hits on the day.

    Kayden picked up the win after allowing two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out two in three innings of work. Evan tossed the final two frames allowing no hits and one walk while striking out three.

    Connor Shroeder set the table for the Rangers’ offense, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot.

    Ryan Wojcik also had a pair of hits while he, Christian Deschane, Luke Smith and Evan Suennen each collected a pair of RBI.
