The Greater Auburn Fire Safe Council (GAAFSC) is here to serve you. The council consists of eight community members and covers the area from Bowman to Penryn and including Auburn, Newcastle and Penryn. Our mission is to advocate for our community and provide resources for residents. For example, GAAFSC instructs volunteers in the community when to raise the Red Flags in extreme fire danger conditions. We communicate with the Auburn, Newcastle and Penryn fire departments and Placer County Fire. We provide educational materials to assist homeowners in making their properties more fire safe.

On this route that retraces Genghis Kahn’s 13th century postal system, riders use maps and GPS (global positioning systems) to navigate a network of 27 horse stations where they change horses every 35 kilometres. A Q&A with four Derby participants follows the film and a portion of ticket sales will support locals Ali Woodward and Melissa Montgomery in their 2025 Mongol Derby quest. Two Vagos motorcycle gang leaders arrested following search warrant in Rosamond: KCSO
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/FOX58) — Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested two Vagos motorcycle gang leaders, the President and Sergeant at Arms, on weapon and gang charges. Deputies said on June 14, they learned about several Vagos motorcycle gang members in the Tehachapi area who were allegedly harassing customers at a local business.

SACRAMENTO — A group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted a session in the California Assembly chamber Wednesday evening.It happened at around 7 p.m. Assembly members took a recess when this occurred and when lawmakers returned to the chamber, the protest continued.Despite the session being disrupted, the session was able to continue until it was adjourned.Video taken inside the capitol shows demonstrators on a second-floor balcony chanting "Free, free Palestine." BBanners held over the balcony read "California #1 state sponsor of genocide" and "Rafah tent massacre," which points to the dozens of Palestinians, including displaced people living in tents, who were killed in an Israeli airstrike in May.On Tuesday, CBS News reported that at least nine people were killed by an overnight Israeli strike in Khan Younis after Palestinians were ordered by the Israeli army to flee the southern Gaza city.In mid-June, the Israeli military said it experienced the deadliest attack on its forces in months when eight soldiers were killed in an explosion in southern Gaza.The conflict in Gaza has been ongoing since October 2023.Security guards at the California Capitol in Sacramento escorted the demonstrators out after the session had ended. No arrests were announced.
