Patelco Credit Union ransomware attack not likely to be fixed this weekend
CALIFORNIA, USA — Days after Patelco Credit Union suffered a ransomware attack, some clarification about what members can use is coming to light. In a statement posted to its social media channels Sunday, the credit union said it required them to shut down some day-to-day banking systems including online banking and the mobile app including electronic transactions like transfers, direct deposit and payments and accessing the online portal.
California man convicted of murder, hate crime, in stabbing death of gay college student
Samuel Woodward was convicted of first-degree murder with a hate crime enhancement for the 2018 stabbing death of Blaze Bernstein. Bernstein was a gay Jewish college sophomore who was home visiting family in Southern California when he was killed. KNBC’s Hetty Chang reports.
West Hollywood Bars to Offer Drug Testing Kits for Sale Under New California Law
Effective July 1, 2024, West Hollywood bars like Revolver, Trunks and Mother Lode are required to offer drug testing kits for sale to their customers under Assembly Bill 1013, introduced by Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal. The new law applies to establishments with a Type 48 license. The new requirement does not impact establishments that serve food with Type 47 licenses like The Abbey WeHo, Micky’s WeHo, Rocco’s WeHo and Beaches WeHo.

More than 6.4 million vehicles are currently operating in the United States with airbags that were recalled 10 years ago, according to the vehicle analyst company Carfax.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration referred to the 2014 Takata airbag recall as the largest and most complex safety recall in U.S. history.
