Almost $300,000 in airport improvements move forward
The England Authority is proceeding with improvements and security enhancements at the Alexandria International Airport terminal. Ford Audio-Visual System’s bid was $299,427. The Authority is also amending, repealing and enacting almost 70 sections of its code of ordinances dealing with airport rules and regulations, finance and personnel & procedures.

'Hurricane Strong' sculpture unveiled at Alexandria Museum of Art
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - On July 25, people gathered outside the Alexandria Museum of Art to reveal a new permanent sculpture in downtown Alexandria. The sculpture, “Hurricane Strong,” was made by Ky Beaux, an emerging artist from Opelousas. This project was initially created as part of a “National Endowment for the Arts” initiative in 2023.

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - Natchitoches Police discovered a person suffering from gunshot injuries Thursday (July 25). Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to gunshots in the area.
