Huskies Rally for Walk-Off Win Ahead of All-Star Break
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies defeated the Eau Claire Express 7-6 in walk-off fashion in their final game before the All-Star break on Sunday at Wade Stadium. The Huskies trailed 6-0 through three innings, giving up two home runs in the process. However, Duluth clawed back, scoring three runs in the fourth inning and tying the game in the seventh. In the bottom of the ninth, Joe Vos hit a single to left field, bringing in Charlie Sutherland for the game-winning run.

Isabella Lyste crowned 2024 Barron County Fairest of the Fair
Isabella Lyste of Barron was crowned the 2024 Barron County Fairest of the Fair on Sunday afternoon as one of the concluding events of the five-day fair. Named first runner-up was Alexus Olson of Rice Lake, and crowned the first-ever Junior Fairest of the Fair was Cadence Holten of Hillsdale. Judges of this year's event were Karen Germanson, Heidi Small and Doris Laursen. Fairest co-coordinators are Devon Lauren and Sarah Doyen. The program included introductions by all three candidates, a farewell from outgoing Fairest Elora Repman and a hello from visiting Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair Kelsey Henderson of Racine County. Fair Board President Russell Rindsig awarded the outgoing fairest her framed portrait as fairest and a share of stock in the Barron County Fair.
Minn. man pleads guilty in armed robbery case
BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) - A Minnesota man pleaded guilty Friday in the armed robbery and assault of an elderly man in Barron in December. Court documents show that on July 19, 33-year-old Ryan Charpentier of Little Canada, Minn., pleaded guilty to armed robbery as party to a crime with an increased penalty for an elder person victim. Charpentier was charged as one of two suspects in the armed robbery and assault of an elderly man in Barron, Wis., on Dec. 19, 2023.

MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- Violations of Wisconsin's air laws at a Manitowoc manufacturing facility will cost Kerry Inc. $85,000. Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced details of the settlement Monday, which requires Kerry Inc. to pay a total of $85,000 in forfeitures, surcharges and court costs to resolve violations of Wisconsin air laws related to its liquid smoke manufacturing facility in Manitowoc.
