    2 Ohio State (13-0) vs 7 vs 10 winner (7 Texas)

CFN Preview of All 134 Teams

Why this is the preseason College Football Playoff Quarterfinal Rose Bowl Projection

    - The Big Ten champion is all but certain to go to the Rose Bowl - Ohio State will be in Pasadena as the 2 seed. Georgia will be the 1 seed going to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, the Buckeyes will get the Rose Bowl, and it’ll be a blast of an atmosphere for a playoff game.

    - The 2 seed gets the 7 vs 10 winner, no matter what. This is where it might get a tad murky with the rankings, but the early call is Texas at the 7 and Penn State at the 10, with the Longhorns getting the win in Austin. The hype will be off the charts between the two powerhouses, but …

    - The rested Buckeyes will flex a bit. This could very easily be the national championship if Texas can somehow pull off the SEC Championship win over Georgia, or Alabama, or … nah.

Texas will be good, but it’ll lose a few along the way to miss out on even playing in the conference title game, but a win over Michigan early on will be the big win to get that 7 seed. And then Ohio State will show why this might be its year.
