Why this is the preseason College Football Playoff Quarterfinal Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Projection

    - The preseason call is that the Big Ten and SEC will be 1-2 in some way in the final College Football Playoff rankings. There might be some thought to putting the SEC champion in the night game in the Sugar Bowl - especially if it’s somehow LSU - but this should kick things off at Ground Zero for the SEC.

The Big Ten champion will almost certainly go to the Rose Bowl, and putting Georgia - or Texas, or Alabama - here would be giving the 1 seed the biggest break possible. The Dawgs might play three of their last four games of the season in Atlanta.

    - The 1 seed plays the 8 vs 9 winner no matter what - it’s a flaw in the system if a lower seed wins a first round game. It’s not a monster call, but we’re thinking 9-seed Ole Miss has to go to Ann Arbor to face 8-seed Michigan, and we’re thinking Lane Kiffin’s bunch pulls off the upset. Unfortunately …

    - This would be a rematch of the November 9th matchup in Oxford. We think Georgia will run through its schedule, but will have to fight through the Rebels on the road in the first meeting. There won’t be many problems the second time around as the SEC champ rolls into the CFP semifinals.
