ESPN analyst and college football insider Paul Finebaum didn’t hold back when asked about Alabama's chances of winning the national championship this season.

On Wednesday's episode of ESPN's ‘Get Up’ , Finebaum confidently stated that the Crimson Tide has no chance of securing the title this year.

"It's a really simple answer, no," Finebaum said.

Finebaum pointed to deficiencies in Alabama's secondary as a significant factor contributing to their likely struggles, highlighted by the departure of Caleb Downs, who left for Ohio State.

He also highlighted concerns about their challenging schedule, especially with Nick Saban not at the helm. With Kalen DeBoer taking over, Finebaum believes the team faces an uphill battle.

Despite his firm stance on Alabama's national championship chances, Finebaum isn't completely writing off their season.

He acknowledged that while winning the championship might be out of reach, the Crimson Tide could still make it to the playoffs.

"They can make the playoffs, but they are not going to win the national championship without Nick Saban," Finebaum added. "Not yet at least."

As the season gets underway, Alabama will kick off its campaign against Western Kentucky on August 31. The outcome of their challenging season will be closely watched as they aim to prove Finebaum's predictions wrong.
