Predictions In For Nation's No. 4 Ranked Recruit On Decision Day

Top offensive lineman David Sanders Jr. is set to announce his commitment on Saturday. The Tennessee Volunteers have been identified as a team to watch for the talented offensive tackle.

On3 recruiting analysts Steve Wiltfong, Chad Simmons and Pete Nakos have all predicted the Volunteers to win out for the skilled player. Wiltfong reiterated that Tennessee is in a good place on the day of the decision.

Wiltfong shared the following of the recruitment on Saturday.

"Josh Heupel and the Vols are trending as they aim to add to a recruiting class currently ranked No. 9 nationally," Wiltfong shared. "Sanders visited Knoxville five times this calendar year including his final stop of the process at the end of July."

Heupel is building a contender in Knoxville. The optimism surrounding the program is as much about recruiting as it is about on-field success.

Tennessee's 11-2 campaign in 2022, headlined by an Orange Bowl victory over Clemson and upset win over Alabama, gives tangible proof of concept. Even so, Tennessee's recent recruiting trends bode well for its future.

Elite quarterback George MacIntyre currently ranks at the No. 2 player in Tennessee's 2025 recruiting class and No. 8 quarterback in the country. He is set to follow former 2023 five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava to Tennessee should MacIntyre ultimately sign with the Volunteers.

Tennessee's 2024 recruiting class yielded two wide receivers who received five-star ratings. On3 ranked Mike Matthews as the nation's No. 26 overall player, while 247Sports ranked Jordan Ross as its No. 9 player and No. 1 wide receiver in his class.

The skill positions are in place for the Volunteers. Now, they'll look to add a top offensive tackle on Saturday. Sanders is set to commit at 1:15 p.m. ET .
