Top SEC Program Trends For Elite 2025 Edge Rusher

The Georgia Bulldogs are trending for a top defensive player. Four-star edge rusher Chase Linton appears to be strongly considering Georgia as of Saturday evening.

Georgia received national predictions from On3 Sports' Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons on Saturday evening.

The predictions come on the heels of Linton's decommitment from Rutgers. Now, one of Georgia's top in-state prospects could be headed to Athens.

The Atlanta (GA) product commands strong positioning in the On3 Industry Ranking. He ranks as the No. 26 edge rusher and No. 244 overall player in the country.

Linton is still a work in progress at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. Presumably, he will need to grow into his frame to make an impact in college. That said, it's clear his athleticism caught the attention of Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart.

For Rutgers, the decommitment stunts its hot start on the recruiting trail. The Scarlet Knights have surged this cycle and rank as the No. 25 recruiting class in the country.

Georgia ranks as the No. 4 recruiting class in On3 Sports' team recruiting rankings. It looks to continue its push for a No. 1 recruiting class in the months ahead.
