UCF vs New Hampshire Prediction, Game Preview, Betting Lines

Can New Hampshire give UCF a run?

Last year the Wildcats almost pulled out a thriller in a 45-42 loss to Central Michigan, and now they bring their fun passing game and big offense to Orlando.

UCF gets a few tune-ups before diving into the Big 12 season, getting Sam Houston at home next before going to TCU. The program is 26-1 since moving up into the FBS in 1996.

    - Week 1 Thursday Schedule, Predictions

    Why New Hampshire Will Win

The Wildcats might have lost QB Max Brosmer to Minnesota, and do-it-all RB Dylan Laube is gone, but the offense that was so effective last year should be dangerous enough to worry about - WR Logan Tomlinson is a problem.

Can the Wildcat run D work? UCF was 2-7 when allowing 100 yards or more last season, and New Hampshire averaged 115 yards per game on the ground. But …

    Why UCF Will Win

The New Hampshire defense will be in for a long day.

It wasn’t too bad at getting into the backfield, but the secondary was torched. UCF’s attack should be balanced - and it’ll start on the ground - but Arkansas transfer QB KJ Jefferson has the deep threats to open things up a bit.

The idea here is to get Jefferson warmed up with all the parts around him. Putting up at least 30 points and over 400 yards of total offense shouldn’t be an issue.

UCF vs New Hampshire: Who Will Win

New Hampshire will still be good despite all the lost offensive stars.

The focus early on will be on the UCF offense, but the defense will be the story. After a rocky year with way too many mistakes, it’ll look and play far better on the defensive front to clear the way for the new group of transfer linebackers to shine.
