As fans nationwide plan for the 2024 college football season, the No.1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs have announced a new seating capacity for the program's Sanford Stadium this fall.

The increased seating capacity for Sanford Stadium is part of a massive $68.5 million renovation project that began following the 2022 campaign. According to the Bulldog's 2024 media guide , the renovations increased the stadium's seating capacity from 92,746 to 93,033.

The stadium upgrades primarily involved various enhancements to the press box, premium seating sections and fan amenities such as additional concessions and family restrooms.

Even though the stadium only added 287 seats to its capacity, fans will still be eager to watch the Bulldogs attempt to return to the College Football Playoff this fall. The program currently holds the nation's longest active home winning streak at 25 games, dating back to Oct. 12, 2019.

Georgia returns several key players to this fall's roster, headlined by starting quarterback Carson Beck, who will have an improved backfield through the addition of running back Trevor Etienne. Defensively, the Dawgs will be led by the impressive play of defensive end Mykel Williams and safety Malaki Starks.

The Bulldogs open their 2024 campaign on Aug. 31 against the No. 14-ranked Clemson Tigers at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium as part of the Aflac Kickoff game. The matchup will start at noon (ET) and air on ABC.

The stadium renovation project is expected to be completed by the program's home opener when Georgia hosts the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at 2:00 p.m. (ET) on Sept. 7, which will air on both SEC+ and ESPN+.
